When you go on vacation… wouldn’t it
be great if “Fido” could go on his very own
vacation too? Except no airplane ride needed,
just a short trip to Country Paws Grooming &
Boarding in Knightsen, where he will have the
time of his life! Problem is, he may not want to
come back home.
“Our boarding facility is country-living for
dogs: it’s quiet with a half acre of park-area for
them to run around,” said owner Cinda Ma-
horney.“The dogs get plenty of play time here.”
Opened in 2009, the boarding facility is open
seven days a week. Cinda, with her 25 years of
experience with boarding and dog-grooming
experience, has quality time to allow her dog
boarders the extra time to run around and have
fun. She even gives each dog a complimentary
bath and cute bandana before going home.
With a maximum capacity of 12 pets, Cin-
da’s farm-like boarding facility guarantees a
low-stress, relaxing and enjoyable environment
for pets.
“Shy dogs do well here, because we are able
to separate pets if they are bothered by other
dogs,” said Cinda. “We also match dogs up by
size and temperaments, so some of them can
play together. Some pets get alone-time with
us, if it’s needed.”
“We also send pictures of the pets while
they’re here – to their owners who are on vaca-
tion,” added Cinda, who gives donations to the
SPCA.
While it’s best to bring your own pet food,
since Cinda says dogs should stick with their
regular diet and it’s difficult to duplicate what
foods they’re used to, Cinda does have plenty of
extra blankets and chew toys for your pet. She
can also administer medications if needed.
Minutes away from Brentwood, Oakley,An-
tioch and Discovery Bay, Country Paws Board-
ing also offers same-day grooming.
“Clients tell me all the time, they feel so
comfortable when they are away, because they
know their pets are in good hands,” said Cinda,
who owns several horses on the property along
with her miniature Australian Shepherd Johnny,
Poodle puppy Crystal, a pig named Peaches and
a cow and two goats.
The most exciting part about Cinda’s job is
“getting paid to love, play and take care of the
dogs! It makes me feel good” she said.
Pricing is $30 per night, with a free bath re-
turning home. Call to schedule a tour with you
and your dog, so he or she can see how much
fun they’ll have.

It’s a good feeling that after play time, the dogs are
happy to return to their rooms, such as my client’s
poodle Branson. I dont feel bad putting them back
in the kennel.
