West Valley College
transfer Center…
thE trAnSfEr cEntEr’S
mission is to help as many students as possible
reach their goal of graduating from a four-year
institution. The transfer process can be very
confusing. There are many colleges to choose
from, all with different admission criteria. Come
in and get help! We will work with you through the
entire transfer process.
Transfer Admission Agreements (TAAs)
A TAA is a guarantee of admission to a four-year
school for students who complete certain
classes and earn a specified minimum GPA.
We have TAAs with 8 universities.
(See list below.)
Articulation Agreements
We have agreements with many four-year
schools on which West Valley College classes
will be accepted towards General Education
and individual majors.
University Representatives campus visits
Representatives of four-year institutions are
available on a frequent basis to meet with
students one-on-one.
Help through the whole transfer process
We have workshops on how and when to apply
and tips for writing your admission essay. We
have counselors available to answer your
questions and help you determine which
schools are best for you.

transfer Degrees!
wESt vAllEy collEgE
now offers new associate degree programs:
Associate Degrees for Transfer (AA-T and AS-T)
in Communication Studies, Psychology and
Sociology designed to support two goals:
1) Successful transfer to the
California State University system
2) Concurrent completion of an Associate in
Arts or Associate in Science Degree
Students who earn an Associate Degree for
Transfer meet minimum admission requirements
for junior standing at a California State University.
While earning an Associate Degree for
Transfer does not guarantee a student admission
to a specific State California State University
campus or a specific major, it does secure priority
admission consideration for a similar major at a
CSU campus. To enhance competitiveness as
a CSU transfer applicant, meet with a counselor
and utilize the services of the Transfer Center.
