A
nnie Jung loves her job,
not only because she gets
to help people as a professional
counselor, but because every day
she gets to live a purpose-filled life.
“What’s the point of being
here if we don’t do something that
shapes us and others in a positive
way?” says Annie, who owns a pri-
vate counseling practice in Brent-
wood since 2012, and practicing
for the last eight years between
California and her home state of
Louisiana.
Married to Stephen with their
three children, Bella, Helene and
Garner, the Brentwood resident
counsels those ages four to 104
and considers the client's overall
wellness including physical, spiri-
tual, intellectual, social, as well as
emotional health.
“I’m much more of an active
therapist. I don’t do a cookie-
cutter approach, so each session is
very much tailored to each client
for where they are at that specific
moment. We do talk about feel-
ings, but also about your goals. I
give you strategies to try in ev-
ery session,” says Annie. “A lot of
my clients say, ‘wow, I’ve gone to
counseling before, but I’m seeing
faster results and I actually have
some things to try when I leave!”
As a Licensed Professional
Clinical Counselor (LPCC), An-
nie, who has a Master’s Degree in
Community Counseling, answers
the question of who really needs
counseling.
“Who doesn’t need counsel-
ing? We all could use someone to
talk to who isn’t going to judge
us,” she says. “That’s why people
