W
hen it comes to a personal
trainer, Kim Troughton is one of
Delta Valley Athletic Club’s best. A
certified personal fitness trainer for
over 20 years, Kim teaches circuit
classes that work your cardio,
lower and upper body, abs and
derriere. “I have the best job in
the world, because I love what
I do! I get to help people stay
fit and fabulous,” said Kim,
a Huntington Beach native,
who grew up in Weaverville,
Calif. “We don’t just work
the body – I want my clients
to love what they see in their
mirror!” She calls her classes
“recess,” because they’re so much
fun, it doesn’t feel like work. Kim
volunteered her fitness services
for 10 years at Delta Community
Presbyterian in Discovery Bay, and
today lives in Discovery Bay with
her husband.Theyare parents to two
grown boys. Inspired by her mother
who even now runs two miles a day
and swims, Kim tells people to find
a trainer you feel comfortable with
and who listens more than talks. “It
has to be someone you look forward
to seeing, otherwise it’ll become
a chore,” she advised. She also
teaches spin and reformer classes,
along with strength training and
plyometrics. With the fitness results
her clients receive, she boasts,
“I always say ‘we’re gonna put
pharmaceuticals out of business!’
If you can dream it, we can do it!”
