The following is a list of study areas described in BCC’s
catalog supplement and in the college’s 2013-2017 catalog
for which BCC awards anAssociate inArt degree (AA), an
Associate in Science degree (AS), a Certificate ofAchieve-
ment (CA), or a Certificate of Proficiency (CP) in liberal
arts, science, occupational fields, or specialized areas of
study. The Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and the
Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) are intended for
students who plan to complete a Bachelor’s degree in a
similar major at a CSU campus.

Biotechnologydrawsfrommanydisciplines,includinggenet-
ics, immunology, and molecular biology. Recent advances
haveimprovedourunderstandingofbiologicalprocessesthat
have accelerated discoveries in medicine and environmental
sciences. BCC’s programs integrate academic and applied
instruction and prepare you for employment in a variety of
