Important Registration Information for Our International Students
International Student
The following questions and
answers will help you to get started with
registration and enrollment for your
classes at Berkeley City College, Col-
lege of Alameda, Laney College, and/or
Merritt College.
• If I am an international student with
an F1 Visa, how can I register for
Berkeley City College, College of
Alameda, Laney College, and/or
Merritt College (the Peralta
Colleges)?
If you are in international student with
an F-1 Visa, follow the steps below.
Step 1:
Submit the International Stu-
dent Application Form and required
documents by the deadlines listed on the
application. Your application must be
submitted to the Peralta District Office
of International Education (see address
in column 3 on this page).
Step 2:
You will be contacted in two
business weeks to confirm the status of
your application, if it is incomplete or if
it has been preliminarily accepted.
Step 3:
If you are pre-accepted, com-
plete the CCCApply online application
to create a student account (
-
ply.org).
Step 4:
To be officially accepted to a
Peralta college, email your Peralta
student ID number to the Admissions
and Records staff when you complete
your online student account.
Step 5: If you are an Overseas
Student:
An I-20 will be issued to you
along with an Acceptance Letter.
If you are a Transfer Student:
An I-20
will be issued to you after your previous
school releases your I-20 and you have
enrolled full-time.
Your Next Steps:

• Take a Placement Exam
• Meet with a Counselor
• Register and Pay for Your Classes

For Concurrent Enrollment:
If you are a student on an F-1
is attending another institution, you may
take classes at Berkeley City College
(and at other Peralta colleges).
