How to Apply for Refunds; Adding and Dropping Classes
Who May Enroll
Anyone 18 years of age or older may enroll as
a California resident or non-resident. Anyone
under 18 years of age who is a high school
graduate, has aGEDor CaliforniaHighSchool
ProficiencyCertificate, or is a special part-time
student also may enroll. See High School Pre-
High School Students in this section.
International Students
For holders of non-immigrant visas
(F-1 or M-1):

High School/Pre-High
School Students
If you are a high school student, youmay enroll
as a part-time student. You should discuss ap-
propriatecourseofferingswithyourhighschool
counselor before pursuing this educational
avenue. You must have a recommendation
from your high school counselor, principal,
the consent of your parents, and approval from
Peralta’s District Director of Admissions and
Records. The units you earn are for college
credit. With approval of your high school,
you may also receive high school credit. High
school students who wish to enroll in English
and/or math courses must complete an assess-
ment and orientation session. All others are
strongly encouraged to complete assessment
and orientation to ensure appropriate course
placement. Students also are encouraged to
bring a copy of their high school transcript to
the counseling session.
If you wish to enroll in 6.5 or more
semester units in Fall or 3.5 or more semester
units in summer, you need approval from
Berkeley City College’s Vice President of
Student Services. Call (510) 981-2820.
AC Transit EasyPass Fees
All students enrolled in 9 or more units are
required to pay an AC Transit EasyPass fee
of $41 per semester. This fee will be collected
at the time of enrollment. With EasyPass, you
can ride all AC Transit bus lines, including
local and Transbay service, at all times. Plus,
you save over 94 percent off the local rate
and 96 percent off Transbay service. Please
note: This fee is non-refundable.
